2017 Hewlett Education Program Grant

Dear Colleague,

The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is pleased to announce that you have been invited to apply for a 2017 California Education Program Grant. This invitation-only application is for organizations that are currently engaged in advocacy, implementation and research around deeper learning policy in California. Invited institutions may apply for up to $300,000 in two-year-long grants that address at least one of the following goals:

(1) Ensuring the longevity of the LCFF/LCAP framework and/or supporting the creation of a new state multiple measure accountability system; or

(2) Encouraging innovations that support competency- and proficiency-based performance assessments with a focus on high school graduation.

Strong applicants will be high-performing, action-oriented research and development, and advocacy organizations that have shown dedication to supporting student outcomes in the areas of effective implementation, communications and/or building the research/evidence base for deeper learning.

Completed applications must use the attached template, budget and IRS nonprofit determination letter and submit materials to proposal@capitolimpact.org no later than 5:00 p.m. PDT on March 27, 2017. Grant decisions will be announced in early May 2017.
